Postal Cards' result
This year I sent New Year postal card to a few friends, mostly to new friends. This was a new act from me as well; I have never done that before. Well, it was successful because my friends became happy. The interesting part was their reactions.
One didn’t pay careful attention to what I wrote, only thanked me and didn’t send anything in return.
One read carefully, sent nothing in return, warmly appreciated.
One sent me an email of 15 lines of thanks and lots of appreciations and with an overreaction of giving me thousands of compliments which I cannot answer; finally made me regretful.
One didn’t receive because of the wrong address and after we discovered that, was not eager enough to pick it up.
One got it on time; informed me that it is received, including no thanks at the beginning and sent me a card and a package immediately. The card was Thank You card not Happy New Year card and with remonstrating me because of the words I wrote on the card.
Well, people are different and they are different with different people, so it is complicated. I think the way each of them reacted is a mixture of their character, their feeling for me and the feeling they believe I have for them. Not reading what I wrote or not sending me something in return does not mean to me that they didn’t care about me sometimes it means they are sure that they don’t need to prove that they care. Jumping into a right conclusion sometimes is hard for me.
Finally I received a real Eydi this year. Ofcourse, I am so happy and will keep it long like my life. The gift is the most clichéd gift possible. A pretty pretty crystal flower with a mirror. The boxes, ribbon and pocket have the same label as the flower has. I am gonna complain why the postal card is from Hallmark and not SWAROVSKI? The gift has much value for me and this label collection does not create extra credits.

It is pretty! And as for the responses to your cards--maybe you need to send cards or do things only when you really want to, and not care how they are received. (Yes, I know this is easy to say and hard to do).

I think it's only fair to mention here that,
The address you sent the card to was where I lived two years ago and with US standards, first of all it'd be totally, and I mean totally weird to go and ask for my card. second, the new residents usually get rid of the stuff from past residents because of how much junk mail we recieve. Finally, there is a forwarding service that brings the important stuff to your new address if it goes to the old one.
So, I recieved the card yesterday and I hereby publicly thank you for the warm greetings. It was definitely a nice gesture from your side, despite the fact that we spoke right after the year turned.
Thanks again and Happy New Year Kimi!

Yeah, it is true. Even this time I didn't expect anything from them. It was just for a second that I felt like to send something to my friends. well, their reaction didn't change anything to me about them :)
Yousef, I really wanted you to receive the card cause I didn't talk to Sahar after New Year. I understand that it is weird. no problemo :D

different reactions yet different definitionsin actions as well. sometimes a thank you is the greatest interest one shows towards the outside world while another might be thanking everyone for hours normally but inside feeling this is just a routine :-) no interpretations :-)
Then agn it is always fantastic to recieve EIDIEs. In Iran it is mostly abt Money these days & while I can't complain I can't hide the feeling that I would like to recieve gifts of the person's taste instead :-)

yes, Doc. I know what you mean. That's why I didn't try to generalize and define a nice reaction. However, for those who you dont really know them, these are small hints to get to know them.

well usually the age diff is in a way that one might not want to know the person much ;-) lol
